Watch Louisville coach Rick Pitino drain threes in an over-55 competitive basketball league

It’s no secret that Rick Pitino is good at the sport of basketball.

The head coach of 32 years holds a 770-271 collegiate record, which happens to include a national title with both Kentucky (1996) and Louisville (2013).

But what may be a little less known is that the 64-year-old is pretty proficient between the sidelines as well as on them.

Tuesday night, Chris Fischer of NBC 6 South Florida was in Miami, where he filmed Pitino playing in an over-55 competitive basketball league. Fischer reported that this was Pitino’s first time playing competitive basketball in 16 years. Not too shabby:

According to Fischer, Pitino dropped nine points on the night, all from beyond the arc.

And of course he couldn’t help but coach his teammates while on the floor:

But we’re guessing they didn’t mind. It’s not every day you get to have a Hall-of-Fame coach tell you to when to cut in your over-55 league.
